Everything warm but the water.
A custom-built map in terracotta red roads on warm cream land, with the water in a soft pale teal. Places that hold the heat: a harbour town, a hillside village, the street you went back to every summer.
The land is cream rather than white, so the map reads as a piece of warm colour instead of a diagram on paper. There is no border drawn around it; the streets run to the edge of the print and off it. The water is the one part of the map that isn’t warm, and that cool note is what lets a river or a coastline read from the far side of the room. The pin, where you use one, is deep teal.
Deep Teal is the same map turned to the cool end. This is the one for a room that already has warmth in it.
